Are there any side effects of using mri on a 2 years old ?

Not usually: The risk of exposure to irradiation is circumvented, whatever little risk that might exist has to be of course outweighed by the reason for the MRI. Very young children usually require sedation for MRI which may have its own inherent risks as with any procedure. These issues should be carefully discussed with your health provider. Take care.

Not really: Although the MRI is often part of the radiology department, where xrays are used, it has nothing to do with xrays or radiation. The process takes a special magnet and temporarily magnetizes the bodies cells. It then scans the body and produces an image. The cells revert to normal after the process.Kids often are put to sleep for the procedure to keep them still. That has some risk.
