Hype: Except for very specific cases, there is no way to do veneers esthetically and with proper tooth form with out tooth reduction. Truly trained cosmetic dentists can do it with minimum reduction and give a healthy and esthetic result. Just adding to a tooth makes a fat tooth. See a trained cosmetic dentist for your range of options, including materials. Lumineers is just one brand of veneer.

Sure: No- prep or minimal-prep veneers help conserve tooth structure. However, you should make sure that they don't impinge on the gum to minimize the chances of gum recession in the future.

Why change?: Why do they need to be changed? The shade? The shape/size? If you feel they are too small or wrong shape, then additional tooth structure may be needed to be adjusted/reducted to create the style or smile you desire. Get magazine pics of smiles you like to show your dentist so they truly get it right. Find a cosmetic dentist with good reviews. They should last 15 years + if taken care of.

It all depends: Make sure your dentist is aware of your bite, if you have malocclusion, parafunctional habits, bruxism, and your diet, oral hygiene all are important, and make sure you consider orthodontics and look at different types of veneers, from emax, empress, feldspathic, and macveneers.
