Plugged ears: You likely have nasal obstruction as well (allergy would be first on the list of suspects especially if the sniffling is seasonal in nature) and the swelling has obstructed the inner ear (eustachean tubes) opening leading to plugged ears and hearing impairment. Try nasal steroid for a couple of weeks to see if this helps. If not , see your family doctor.
