I intermittently get a sharp stabbing pain at bottom of my left lung when taking deep breaths. shallow breaths don't cause pain. i also have asthma?

Rib cage: This is likely from coughing too much causing inflammation at the rib cage. Try ice pad or heating pack- depending on which works well. It should improve in a few weeks after the cough has subsided.
