Wait a day or two: Unless the tear duct opening gets infected, it will likely recover in a couple of days. But if it gets more sore and swollen (particularly) with pus , then you will need to see your doctor and get an antibiotic eye drop. In the meanwhile, just use artificial tear without preservative to soothe the area. If you can go without your contact lenses, not wearing it for a day or two may be helpful.
