No: Although there is no cure for SLE at this time, the disease can usually be controlled to avoid organ damage. Hope she is under the care of a rheumatologist.

No, there is no cure, but with early surveillance and treatment some of the problems seen years ago with lupus can be avoided or lessened. The most important things are diagnosis, monitoring, and appropriate treatment. Pediatric rheumatologists know this disease well.
