See a doctor ASAP: Lupus presents in many ways, kidney disease being only part of the presentation. A family doctor can run a few tests and examine her and make the diagnosis. There is no cure for lupus, but the treatment options have improved dramatically and can control the disease process. It is also important that she be seen to make sure it is lupus. Many diseases can affect the kidney.
