A member asked:

Does a tight cervix affect a woman's ability to get pregnant and/or carry to term? are there any pros/cons of tight cervix when it comes to pregnancy

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No, no, probably not: Unless the cervix is scarred from prior injury, its canal has become very stenotic and deformed or it has a rare congenital anomaly, an otherwise normal cervix is a dynamic organ which may seem "tight" at times and soft and relaxed at other times. Ability to get pregnant and/or carry to term should not be affected by a "tight"appearance." No" to the first 2 questions and "probably not" to the 3rd.
