? infection: Mupirocin is as you know an antibiotic ointment. Like oral antibiotics you should use sparingly for infection of your skin to avoid selecting resistant organisms.
The key is to keep your hand as dry as possible and open to the air. If there is secondary infection you can apply mupirocin in a thin layer twice a day.
