Infected Eczema Only: Mupirocin ointment is a antibacterial preparation that can be helpful for eczema that has become infected but is not the proper treatment for maintenance of eczema long term. Using daily moisturizers and topical corticosteroid ointments for flares is more appropriate. See an Allergist or Dermatologist for more details on properly treating eczema.

I agree with D> Greiwe. Also fragrances and harsh soaps and hot water and too frequent washing all make eczema worse.

That includes scented detergents and fabric softeners, along with scented lotions, oils, shampoos etc. Pick products for sensitive skin.
