A member asked:

I've been on antibiotics for 9 days now for strep throat and my tonsils are still enlarged--what does this mean?

Nothing special: Tonsils don't suddenly shrink after you start treatment and can remain oversized for a while. You may also have a co-existing viral throat irritation that slows their change. If your initial fever and "feel bads" have improved, I'd focus on getting back to living. If you still feel bad, you need to see whether you had mono along with the strep, or something similar.
