My child has been sick with a cold and a cough for over a week and can't get any better?

Not unsual: A child over age six months who is smiling a little, well-hydrated and playing a little rarely needs to go the doctor.

It is not unusual : To get cough and cold combination this time of year from allergies. Just be sure there is no wheezing as this is treated differently. See pediatrician if with fever, not eating , sleepless/ restless or labored breathing.
