Some possible: things. cannot say in your particular case, but generally, there is some irritaiton with any respiratory infection. This leads to increased susceptibility to other inflammation. Basically, it's like asthma but temporary. Singulair (montelukast) often helps the symptoms and speeds healing of inflammation of the respiratory tract. or asthma/pneumonia/many other possibilities
