Answer: Most likely, the crab shell caused a scratch on the inside of your esophagus, but if you are experiencing nausea, vomiting, regurgitation of undigested food, drooling, or breathing/talking difficulties, see a doctor. Otherwise, viscous lidocaine combined with Mylanta over the counter can help to relieve the pain, which should resolve in 2-3 days.
