YOUR: surgeon should determine when and for how long a brace is used however after a fusion some STABILITY of the spine after the procedure is required! The advantage of the brace is that it provides the stability without the possibility of disrupting bone fusion,.the disadvantage is that it delays the rehabilitative physical therapy!
