Can a leukemic patient wear braces?

Remove: We typically recommend removing braces during therapy for leukemia (at least all and aml). Given that chemotherapy reduces the body's effectiveness in fighting infections, having braces puts someone at a greater risk of developing a gum infection or theoretically seeding bacteria into the blood stream.

Yes: If you can maintain adequate oral hygiene, i think it is a very positive and optimistic bet on the future. I would follow the advice of your oncologist, and be very truthful about why you want to embark on the journey. Wishing you the best of health!
