Fortunately,: most cases of constipation can be managed "naturally." The key components of treatment include increasing fiber in the diet (whole grain/bran cereal, whole grains--brown rice, wheat, quinoa, beans/lentils and/or a fiber (psyllium) supplement and LOTS of water (at least 8-10 glasses daily). Also, daily exercise and consideration of osmotic laxatives: MiraLax (polyethylene glycol) or Milk of Magnesia. Good luck!
