PVCs after MI: Premature ventricular contractions are common after myocardial infarction; in some cases they indicate a higher risk of future problems. If there are many 1000s PVCs per day, heart function may worsen. After a heart attack almost all patients should be taking beta blocker, aspirin, a statin drug, and an ACE inhibitor.
