Cramps: are not uncommon with UTIs. Usually these do not warrant an ER visit unless they are severe, however it depends on where the crampy pain is located and whether or not it is accompanied by fever, nausea, or flank pain (which could signal that the infection has traveled to the kidneys, and that WOULD warrant an ER visit. If her cramps are worse than a period, call your Dr's office for advice.
