Up to 10 days: It takes a while, up to 10 days for complete clearing of symptoms. Antibiotics don't work overnight. Sounds like your're on track.

2 zpacks for strep. Throat still red not hurting. Blow nose clear. Tiny pin size white dot on tonsil doesn't hurt. How long before throat isn't red?
I had tonsillitis two months ago. My first zpack seemed to clear things up quickly but my symptoms returned about two weeks later. After waiting it out another week, I was put on a second zpack which took care of the sore throat but not the swollen tonsil
