My daughter throat is very red and swollen now she has a pus pocket in the back of her throat her strep test came back negative but she still running fever! will the azithromycin work? im also rotating tylenol and motrin! please anything will help?

Some thoughts: Some of the worst looking & longest symptoms of a sore throat come from viruses like mono. When strep has been excluded as a cause, antibiotics are not necessary & may expose the kid to its side effects. Fever by itself is a natural body response to illness, circulating blood & immune factors faster to aid healing. Fever meds for comfort may be wise but concentration on hydration is worth more.
