Wrong question: The RIGHT question is: What was the CAUSE of the ischemic infract? You can't assess the long-term prognoses until and unless you know the cause. The location of the infract gives important information about the cause. What does the doctor say about WHY this happened? Keep at it till they tell you why or say they don't know why. You have a right to an explanation in terms you can understand.
