A member asked:

My bp has been 110/60 all through pregnancy now no has gone upto 140/95 and is staying there is this worryingly high?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: See your doctor. A pressure of 140/95 could be preeclampsia which can progress to eclampsia ( seizure), stroke, and/or fluid in the lungs if left untreated. The diagnosis of gestational hypertension is less serious. The cure for preeclampsia is delivery. The doctor must decide if the risks are greater to you or the baby depending on gestational age when making their decision for treatment.
