Ah, anxiety: It is such a challenge. Really, skills do help and you can learn them from a good CBT therapist. There are many and if some don't work - others will. Keep at it and you'll gain control. As you do, choices open up. You need to work w/ a coach to be creative and decisive. Start now and life will go better. It's worth the search. Pills are short term help, knowledge lasts.

Dissociation: Some forms of anxiety, certainly traumatic ones, we can dissociate from and feel very disconnected from our feelings or the onset of symptoms. Our brain may be trying to protect us from being overwhelmed by anxiety and numbs us to the intensity of a feeling state.
