Your doctor should g: A physical examination by a good doctor can guide you further. If there is a real lump in your neck, we need to know more about this lump...like how big is it? how long has it been there? is it growing in size or static? There are tumors that can arise from soft tissues of the neck like muscles and other structures that make up your neck. if the tumor is easily palpable, then you need X-rays done
