Discuss with doctor: Why are you wanting to stop the medication? Even though it is a relatively low dose, it is always recommended that you discuss the situation with your prescribing doctor before tapering off Prozac (fluoxetine) or any other antidepressant medication. It is important that any medication change made be overseen by you doctor to make sure that you do not run into any problems. Hope this helps. All the best.

See below: Prozac (fluoxetine) is fairly easy to stop without any withdrawal symptoms, There are many approaches. You should discuss with your doctor. I often suggest taking 1/2 dosage every other day for a month & then take it every other day for two weeks and then every 4th day & then stop. Many people can just stop it cold since it takes 4-6 weeks to get out of your system. The big concern is the return of depression
