Psych put me on 120mg prozac (fluoxetine). no alleviation of mdd sxs. md said we might taper up to 200 mg. is this safe/adviseable? already tried every other med.

Prozac (fluoxetine): Very high dose. Wondering if tried combination of meds. Such as antidepressant + abilify, (aripiprazole) antidepressants from different groups, antidepressant + mood stabilizers, MAO inhibitors, etc. Best to discuss options with your doctor.

OH MY: The doses that you are describing a too high. No benefit to be gained at this high dosage. The can be other combinations like wellbutrin, abilify, (aripiprazole) buspar, stimulants, lithium, and finally electroconvulsive therapy.
