Yes: All patients have swelling after total knee replacement. But all patients have different amounts of swelling and pain for varying amounts of time. Many factors go into the amount of swelling after knee replacement. Some of them are surgical technique, some of them are based on your preexisting medical conditions and knee mobility prior to surgery, and some of it is based on your post op regimen.
