Post menopausal had d&c for 9mm thick endometrial lining. no malignancy. is it very likely that the d&c will prevent lining from getting thick again?

Maybe not: If, at age 61 you have a innate or exogenous (outside0 source off unopposed estrogen, then the endometrium may grow again. If you are taking HRT (hormone replacement therapy) make sure that progesterone is added to the regimen to avoid estrogen only endometrium stimulation.
