Tics due to Anxiety: Tics are spasm-like movements of particular muscles. In most instances, tics and twitches are harmless and temporary. Stresses of relationships, separation, school, and past unresolved conflicts, peer pressure can cause anxiety. Tics can be one of the symptoms of anxiety. Anxiety may increase severity of motor tics.
