Abdominal pain: Diverticulitis can be a cause of abdominal pain but not the only one. Food intolerance, enzyme insufficiency, mechanical/structural abnormalities, recurrent diverticulitis, non-gastrointestinal problems may all be the cause of your abdominal pain. Finally, psychological issues may manifest via abdominal pain. A thorough history and physical exam are needed to further elucidate the cause.

You have choices: Either your pain is from some other source or the diverticulitis is still active. You could ask your doc for more investigation and testing or get further antibiotics to treat it. Consider going to discuss issues with a surgeon or gastroenterologist (or both.).
