A member asked:

Swollen finger after catching football awkwardly. two months ago. swelling improved over 1st month but finger still sore. does it take weeks/months?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fracture healing: If you broke the finger, it could definitely still be sore. Bones take 6 weeks to heal, typically. If it wasn't splinted all that time, it will take longer. If it was a soft-tissue injury, like a ligament/tendon injury, that could be tender for several weeks as well. It would be a good idea to see a doctor if you are having trouble with your range of motion. Good luck.
