Patience: The MRI will almost certainly show the problem. Difficult to say more without the benefit of an exam. Quad tendon injuries usually don't cause pain in the back of the knee, do a tear in the posterior horn of your meniscus would certainly be of concern. I think you will just have to wait and see what the MRI shows.
