Lump on foot: It might be a ganglion cyst, which is a fluid-filled sac that often occurs on the wrists/hands or feet because of all the little joints in those places. They are very common, not dangerous, and can fluctuate in size depending on if they get irritated (by shoes for example). The only reason to do anything about it is if it causes pain. Otherwise, you can leave it alone.

Lumps and Bumps.: A lump or bump, especially on the top surface can mean various things, depending on the exact location. The fact that it doesn't hurt is good, but not an indicator as to just what it is. It could be soft tissue in nature or bone in origin. An exam by a competent physician should be able to make the call in no time.
