Metronidazole: Flagyl is a brand of metronidazole used for many different infections, none of which you mentioned. So if you're taking it for "stomach" issues such as C diff colitis, then it's more likely that it's the underlying disease causing your rumblings. Not uncommon: When taking Flagyl, common side effects do include gas, abdominal pain, and cramping along with possible diarrhea or constipation. With these stomach effects, the audible bowel sounds you are hearing are to be expected. If they any effects become intolerable and interfere with normal, daily functioning, that is more cause for concern and you should let your healthcare provider know.
