A member asked:

Can a tight belt whilst sitting down for long periods cause severe calf pain in both legs ?

NO.: The long sitting is worrisome. POSSIBILITIES ARE THROMBOPHLEBITIS, a clot in a vein, but bilateral occurrence is very rare. Squeeze your calves from side to side and if they are both sore see a doc ASAP. Bilateral leg pain can come from your back. If you have some weakness and bladder or bowel dysfunction see a doc immediately. Else, take ibuprofen Advil TM or naprosyn Aleve (naproxen) TM and wait.

Calf pain: Calf pain is not typically from a tight belt, however it can be caused by sitting down for long periods of time. Movement such as walking, stretching, biking, swimming and jogging can increase the blood flow and decrease the risk of blot clots in the lower legs. If you are having pain or tightness in the back of both calves you must go to urgent care as this can be life threatening!
