I had a calf cramp while running on sunday. i have not cramped again but the muscle is still tight and a little painful. how long should it take for the muscle to heal and feel normal again? after what period of time should i have it checked out?

Depends: assuming no muscle tear 1 week of abstaining form running. Most running cramps are from either elctrolyre depletion, dehydration or plain old fashioned overuse.Wait 2 weeks and if not allergic I would suggest use of either ibuprofen OR Alve ( not both) and topiccally, Bio-Flex linament 2-3 times daily.
