Impact on mood: Geodon (ziprasidone) is a second generation antipsychotic. It is FDA approved for treatment of schizophrenia, acute mania and bipolar disorder mixed states. What that essentially means is that not only can it address psychosis, but it also can impact mood as well as anxiety. It has been used off label for treating depression and PTSD. Therefore it is not unusual to see Geodon (ziprasidone) being used in such cases. Best.
