Tetanus safe: If your last tetanus shot was less than 7 years ago, it is not necessary to get another booster now. Your management with washing, etc., was appropriate but it is still possible to get an infection from bacteria on the skin whenever there is a cut or puncture. Get an evaluation if the site looks red or becomes more painful.
