Is costochondritis life threatening? i can pinpoint the pain when i squeeze my chest. pain is there all the time & is not triggered from exertion.

No: It is annoying but self-limited. DO NOT CONTINUALLY TEST THE SORENESS. I only prolongs the discomfort. We do not understand the cause yet but it is a being condition. A mild pain killer like Aleve (naproxen) will help to keep your mind off of it.
