Very aggressive rx: Your father has a very sick heart and very sick kidneys. You are presenting a perfect example of the American medical system run amok. Consider carefully what you will be doing to him in his final days. Read Atul Gwande's book "Being Mortal" and think before you act. It is never an easy decision but that is life.
