Please answer! what do docs mean when they say a heart valve is damaged? how long does a person survive with this?

Complicated: Valves are either blocked or leaky or both. Damage is typically due to aging or calcification, congenital conditions, infections or structural deterioration. Some people live years with minor damage others much less. Survival depends on how severe damage is.
