Need further info.: Stress tests are done under the close watch of a Cardiologist. It's a PROVOCATIVE test- trying to elicit symptoms or other info that changes treatment. An ejection fraction ("heart function") of 25% & clogged arteries aren't absolute contraindications. Ask your heart doc: This is a question for your cardiologist. If your cardiologist says it's safe for you, and you don't believe him or her, get a different cardiologist who you do trust. There are different types of stress tests, each with its own indications and situations in which it is not generally considered safe. For example, worsening chest pain, heart block, and severe Asthma are possible concerns.
