That happens...: It's all a matter of degree. A person's hand has to be really swollen to impair the flexion/extension of fingers. Did you injure your hand? The most worrisome swelling is if you got a cut or something and now it is RED and TENDER and swollen. This suggests an infection which needs immediate attention. But if just swollen, ice it. Moving fingers is good sign nothing broken. Good wishes:)
