A member asked:

Stool test result came back positive again for h pylori. why first treatment with antibiotics didn't work? what are the chances of working now

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Resistant strains: There are some strains of h.pylori which have become resistant to the previous antibiotic regimens. The recommendation now is for a 4-drug regimen (3 antibiotics plus an acid blocker called a PPI). You should return to your doctor and try a different course of treatment. Be sure to take all the pills prescribed.
