Sticky stool: May be a sign of ulcers or related to the medicines you took. Recommend a scope down the mouth to look. If you have a larger hiatal hernia, then surgical correction is really the only way to fix this problem. When ppi stop working, surgery is reasonable option. There are incision-less options too called (tif). Some good info on northcypressbariatrics.Com.
