Possible rheumatoid: B"sd does not sound like related to sugars. With type 1 diabetes (not supposed to say "diabetic" any more) other autoimmune diseases are more common. A possiblity would be rheumatoid arthritis. Should have a medical exam and appropriate testing (including specific blood tests). If RA , effective disease modifying therapies available from rheumatologist. Always ready to talk about diabetes.
