A foreign body?: Many times when there is an unexpectedly tender spot under the skin something very tiny (tip of thorn or splinter of some sort) has found its way in there. It will usually, ultimately, become red. Unless you are sure you can explore this safely and cleanly (without causing infection) I would advise a visit to your doctor or Urgent Care. Stay well:)
