Toothache: The tooth had a cavity, an infection. The Dentist did microsurgery to remove the infected tooth material and then placed a restoration. Tooth may be sore for a few days. Naproxen may help. I prefer Ibuprofen. If toothache persists beyond 48 hours call your Dentist.

Sure: sure, take the naproxen as directed to handle the inflammation from the cleaning/filling done and then take a some more before bed. You should be fine but if the pain continues on the tooth with the filling you may need it to be evaluated or adjusted.
