A member asked:

I'm almost 25 years old. is it normal to have a swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck at this age or should it be examined?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: If it is small mobile node, you may watch and wait. Check it about once every two weeks. If it grows in size, becomes stuck to surrounding tissue and less mobile, or if other nodes become palpable, it would be time to consult a doctor. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
